    What is Hair Transplantation?

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure in which hair follicles of individuals experiencing hair loss are removed and transplanted to sparser or empty areas. This method is used in the treatment of male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia), which develops due to genetic factors, which is the most common cause of hair loss. It may also be an option for people experiencing hair loss due to trauma, burns, or other medical reasons. How to do hair transplantation? Hair transplantation is generally performed by two main methods: FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction). FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation): FUT method is a procedure in which hair follicles are removed from the scalp in a strip. This strip is then separated from the hair follicles under a microscope and transplanted to sparser areas. The removed strip area is closed with stitches. In this method, since tissue is removed from a larger area, stitch scars may remain. FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction): FUE method is a method in which hair follicles are removed from the scalp one by one with microsurgical tools. This method is less invasive and does not require stitches, so the healing process is faster. In the FUE method, the hair follicles taken are carefully separated and transplanted to sparser areas. Hair Transplantation Process:

Consultation: The first step is to meet with a dermatologist or hair transplant specialist. The specialist evaluates the degree of hair loss and determines the most appropriate method.

Local Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is usually applied during hair transplantation, so patients do not feel pain during the procedure.

Collecting Hair Follicles: If the FUE method is used, hair follicles are removed one by one. If the FUT method is used, a strip is taken from the scalp.

Separation of Hair Follicles: Hair follicles are separated individually or in strips under the microscope.

Transplantation Procedure: Separated hair follicles are transplanted to sparser or empty areas using microsurgical methods.

Healing Process: Slight swelling, redness and crusting may occur in the first few days after hair transplantation. The recovery process may vary from individual to individual, but normal activities can usually be resumed within a few weeks.

In conclusion, hair transplantation is an effective option to solve a person's hair loss problem or improve their appearance. However, the results of the procedure may vary from individual to individual and success depends on the use of the correct techniques and an experienced team. For this reason, it is important for people considering hair transplantation to have a detailed conversation with a specialist doctor and make a decision by getting the necessary information about the procedure.
